Kids' Vacation Spending Money
If your children receive allowances, encourage them to save a targeted amount for vacation spending money. If they don't receive an allowance or don't have time to save a significant amount, consider giving them a vacation allowance. Here's how it works:
While you're on vacation, allow them to spend an allotted amount of money as they choose. Of course, make it clear that when the money is gone, that's it. Establishing this rule at the outset can eliminate a great deal of conflict on your vacation. What's more, it will give your child the opportunity to experience the joys and agonies of money management first hand.
