To keep help your sanity intact, set up one day a week that you write out your weeks menu -- including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack.  In our  home, I do this every Wednesday -- I write out what we will have each day and I post it on the fridge.  This way, everyone in the house knows at a glance what for dinner, and the kids are not rummaging around in the fridge and cupboards for their after school snack.  It is also easier to do the grocery shopping and plan things out.  A good time and money saver!
