For bee, wasp, yellow jackets and other insect stings, dab a little bleach directly on the bite. Quick relief of pain and helps eliminate swelling and itching. An old wives tail is to draw a pen circle around the bite; haven't tried it since I don't want my kids writing on themselves.
Note from Jenny : While I am sure that the pen doesn't take away the pain, it is a good idea just in case the sting has complications and the doctors need to know where the sting point is. 14 years ago, I was stung by a wasp, and within minutes, my entire arm was swollen to about 4 times normal and was coal black. Like a huge bruise. It turns out that wasps are such nasty dirty critters that the little stinker had given me a bloodstream infection. This can kill you within hours. If after a wasp sting, you see a lot of abnormal swelling or bruising, get to an emergency room immediately!!!
