Today's Tip:

Composting can be an easy and inexpensive way to improve your dirt. Since burning leaves is now forbidden in most states, use them in compost. Go to the local hardware store and buy a metal bin, or if you don't want to spend a great deal of money, buy a stainless steel garbage can and drill holes in various areas around the can. Start with the leaves on bottom, then add weeds, coffee grounds, and any veggie peels you may have. Add an occasional layer of dirt to prevent flies. Then next fall, use this composted material to top-dress your garden. Then you can start your compost all over again.
