Valentine Scrapbook
This beautiful project is a great afterschool activity for older kids to make as a gift or keepsake.
Provided by Heidi Ott of the Crafter's Community web site. Visit her site to find hundreds of craft ideas, tutorials, and resources.
Materials: - Brown paper grocery bags
- 1 sheet of red card stock
- 16" of 1/4" red or white ribbon
- 1 White heart shaped paper doily
- Markers, stickers, and items to decorate the cover
- Glue stick
- Hole punch
- Scissors
Instructions: Click here to print the heart pattern Cut several 13" x 6" rectangles from the brown paper bags. Be sure to cut from areas that do not have seams or folds. Stack the paper rectangles and fold in the center to form a book. Place the heart pattern on the brown paper with the fold line on the folded edge and cut out. Unfold the brown paper and punch two holes in the fold area (see fig. 1). String the ribbon through the holes and tie into a bow. Cut 2 heart pieces from the red card stock using the heart pattern. You will need to cut along the fold line for these pieces so that you have 2 separate heart pieces. Glue the card stock heart shapes to the front and back pages of the brown paper book. Use the white doily, markers, stickers and other items to decorate the front cover of your scrapbook.
