Raindrop Dream

Illustrated Children’s Book Follows Determined Raindrop on Journey to Become a Snowflake

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – Raindrop Dream (published by AuthorHouse), the new children’s picture book written and illustrated by Lisa Weidknecht, is the story of a raindrop who desires to be something more: a snowflake!

Lisa’s colorful drawings accompany this delightful story, which is intended for children aged 2 to 10. Raindrop Dream is an excellent read-aloud book for parents and teachers.

Follow the raindrop as he is blown around the country and through the seasons, hanging tight to his cloud in anticipation of winter. Outlasting spring, summer and autumn and rainstorm after rainstorm, the raindrop exercises perseverance and determination, keeping a hold on his cloud and keeping alive his dream of being a beautiful snowflake.

Raindrop Dream teaches children about weather, seasons and the water cycle as they join the raindrop on his exciting, sometimes frightening journey. Most importantly, young children will be inspired to strive to be their best and follow their dreams, even in the face of adversity.

About the author: Lisa Weidknecht lives in Texas with her husband and three children. She has been an early childhood educator for 20 years. She earned her master’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Phoenix and her bachelor’s degree in child development and family relationships from the University of Texas at Austin. She believes strongly in providing children the right environment and materials to facilitate learning and social interaction.

Raindrop Dream is Lisa’s first published book. Her next book, E is for Emotions, will also be published by AuthorHouse.
