Smiles! - From Dad's Point of Viewby Brian Jacob Rogers
Its that time again. SCHOOL. The summer is slowly drawing to a close, the schools are starting to get cleaned and spruced up, the teachers are preparing for their students and the children are wishing for a few more weeks of summer. This summer has taught me alot. This has been a summer where I have gained alot in terms of memories. But despite all the memories, the ones that I tend to be the most thankful for, is seeing the smiles of my daughters. Although, they can drive you crazy in a heartbeat (having flashbacks to when your mom said "I hope you have children like you"), the smile of our children has got to be the most valuable thing in this world. After a rough day at work, I came home expecting to just go to sleep and forget about the day, when my daughters just looked at me and smiled. Talk about a weight being lifted! The smile of my girls' lifted my spirits and hopes for a better day tomorrow. A friend of mine said that he would trade a million dollars for the smiles of his son. I know what he means, a million dollars will only last so long. The smiles of our children will last forever. I know of people that have lost their children, and when they talk about them, it is their smiles that they miss the most. I personally think that the smiles of children are our reassurance that no matter how bad things are, that there are better things to think about than the bad. This hasn't been a real article, ok so none of mine are :-), but a simple reminder. The next time your child walks into a room with a smile, first see what is broken, then remember that as long as our children are smiling, there is hope. Also, the next time things are getting rough, think back to the smile of your child, that should make alot of things improve. Well, I am gonna close for now with this final thought. Take time each day to give your children a smile, a kiss, a hug and let them know how much you love them. And remember, the children are the future.... err sorry, the song started going thru my head. Oh, just in case, if you have any thoughts on the articles or rants that I write please let me know

I want to say thank you to all the teachers who are getting ready to start the year off. You guys are what keeps the country progressing. Also, if you have time today. Take a couple of minutes and say a prayer for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey. Now is the time to remember those that have been lost. Thank you. Have a great day and remember the smiles. Brian
